I found myself walking through the forest one late afternoon when a flutter of movement caught my attention. Naturally, I'm a curious fellow, so I walked to where a branch was shaking gently.

Lifting the large leaf, I was surprised to see a small figure shivering. I knew immediately what sat curled up was a pixie. A small whimper reached my ears and I held out my hands for it to crawl onto.

The moment the pixie made contact with my palm, a surge of energy washed over both of us. A mutual understanding of two souls coming together in a moment in time. I felt peace and safety emanating from the pixie as I held it close to my chest. A feeling of thankfulness came to mind as I looked down at the pixie, it held up its arm and pointed deeper into the forest.

A few minutes later we arrived at what could only be described as the heart of the forest. A large and clearly ancient tree stood in a small clearing as pixies of all colors flew around it. When my presence was noticed, several pixies flew towards me and the pixie in my hand flew towards them. I don't have good hearing but I was able to hear small squeks, pips, and chirps. It sounded very similar to young birds as I looked around and saw even more pixies coming out of the forest.

After what I felt was centuries, I made my way back home and dreamed of the pixies for days.
