Thanks for checking out this listing for my work. Everything is made by me, one ring at a time, so you can rest easy knowing that you are getting quality work.
This weave is great because it's light-weight and also carries an airy vibe to it due to the open weave pattern. Please note, this listing is for a solid color weave. I typically put a silver clasp on the end but can do black also if I feel like it. If you would like silver or black specifically, email me after placing your order and let me know. You can reach me at longpawstudio@proton.me
Also, if you want Bright Aluminum, just know that the bare aluminum does react to bare skin and will leave a black residue on your skin. However, some mild soap and water takes it right off no problem. Just so you’re aware!
Details:
Light-weight aluminum rings
Lobster claw clasp
You pick a solid color and size and I'll make it for you!
The origin story of Helio's Helm Weave by Longpaw Studio.
The young eyes of Phaethon looked on through the branches of a bush. He tried his best to hide from his father, Helios, but could never escape the gaze of the all-seeing god.
Helios knew his son was near. The sparks from the horses hooves danced across the floor with each step as they waited for the gates to release them to the sky above. The heat from their manes radiated upwards, bending the boundary between realities.
Helios adjusted the glowing chains of the harness when he said over his shoulder, “Phaethon, stop hiding and come here.”
Phaethon was shocked that he had been spotted. His father never once looked in his direction. He pushed through the vegetation and said, “How long did you know I was there?”
“Long enough.” Helios said. “What brings you here today?”
Phaethon’s eyes traveled the length of the chariot, squinting from the brilliance.
“One day I hope to drive the chariot. None of the other boys believe me when I tell them I get to see it whenever I please.”
Helios turned to face Phaethon. “ And you think that driving the chariot would make them believe you?” A smile crossed his lips. “I admire your determination, but not even Zeus himself can command these horses. Besides, the chariot travels between the heavens and the underworld. One wrong decision could spell doom for all that you know. It is no small feat that I alone can drive the chariot of the sun. It would be too much for you at this time.”
“But…”
“No.” Helios said with a father’s love. “Come back in a few days after you’ve had a chance to think this through.”
A few days passed with Phaethon looking to the sky diligently, watching his father’s chariot traverse the cosmos.
When Phaethon approached the stables, Helios met him with a smile and presented a small ornate box.
“What is this for?” Phaethon asked.
“Just a little something to remind you of the cycles and seasons of life. I had Hephaestus make it special for you.”
Phaethon opened the box and saw a chainmail bracelet. Each ring linked together to form the endless path of a sun crossing the sky. All phases of the journey represented; dawn, noon, and dusk, always returning to the beginning.
“When you wear this,” Helios said, “I want you to think deeply about your decisions. Not everything bright and shining will benefit you in life. Wisdom is knowing when to let something fall from your hands.”
And that is my story of Helios’ Helm Weave. A reminder that your journey comes in phases and to be patient for your turn to shine.
